Hans Siebum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferdi van Loo, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Hans Siebum took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henk Meder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rien Saarberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Wittebrink S.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Albert Smit came free, but Richard Knopper reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ferdi van Loo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Henk-Jan Stroobos's late challenge caught a Wittebrink S.V.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henk-Jan Stroobos helped the player get up and apologised. Henk-Jan Stroobos hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After the first half Wittebrink S.V. were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albert Smit to make the kick off. Richard Knopper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teo Zuiverloon in the 82nd minute of the match. When Damien Cardinaal fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wittebrink S.V.'s protests and gave Damien Cardinaal a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Pride of the North booed when Wittebrink S.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damien Cardinaal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute, Wittebrink S.V.'s Mario van Driest dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. When the match was over Wittebrink S.V. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Pride of the North throughout the match.
