In the 3rd minute Eluemuno Salako shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aderounmu Njoku saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aderounmu Njoku took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthew Obibi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel united's Aderounmu Njoku played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matthew Obibi in the 7th minute of play. Chinwenma Okiche fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aderounmu Njoku having to interfere. In the 12th minute Chinwenma Okiche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aderounmu Njoku saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Daniel united's Akpan Hashimu got a free kick in the 12th minute. Aderounmu Njoku took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Onyeka Layeni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aderounmu Njoku showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chinwenma Okiche in the 14th minute of the match. Chinwenma Okiche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Thatcham getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Bukar Jibero hit a great ball. A throw-in in the 23rd minute of the game was made by Mbadiwe Ogodo with Rafael Gambo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 24th minute, Akpan Hashimu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aderounmu Njoku made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Onyeka Layeni in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Daniel united's goal looked a bit too open when Onyeka Layeni came free, but Aderounmu Njoku reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aderounmu Njoku made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chinwenma Okiche in the 32nd minute of play. Stefano Olatunji hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the game, Akpan Hashimu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Daniel united's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Thatcham the free kick. After 35 played minutes Daniel united got a freekick which was hit by Akpan Hashimu. Daniel united's Aderounmu Njoku played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eluemuno Salako in the 39th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Matthew Obibi made a precise shot to the right of Aderounmu Njoku. Daniel united's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Daniel united's Aderounmu Njoku played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chinwenma Okiche in the 44th minute of play. Matthew Obibi took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aderounmu Njoku. Aderounmu Njoku dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Matthew Obibi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Aderounmu Njoku tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chinwenma Okiche to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Ekechukwu Olaniyi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Matthew Obibi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ekechukwu Olaniyi hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Matthew Obibi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Aderounmu Njoku made a huge save. Stefano Olatunji recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 68 minutes, Stefano Olatunji managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Daniel united's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stefano Olatunji was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aderounmu Njoku made an important save on a dangerous shot by Onyeka Layeni in the 71st minute. Aderounmu Njoku made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eluemuno Salako in the 72nd minute of play. After 75 minutes of play, Thatcham's Matthew Obibi made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aderounmu Njoku was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Thatcham's Rafael Gambo got a free kick in the 78th minute. Inaku Abioye made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Okwy Obodo in the 82nd minute of play. Matthew Obibi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Aderounmu Njoku tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aderounmu Njoku showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chinwenma Okiche in the 86th minute of the match. After 90 played minutes Daniel united got a freekick which was hit by Akpan Hashimu. After 93 played minutes Daniel united got a freekick which was hit by Stefano Olatunji. Eluemuno Salako could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Aderounmu Njoku made a huge save. Aderounmu Njoku was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Chinwenma Okiche showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 97 minute of play. Thatcham's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
