Sportaholic Bugibba's George Demanuele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kyle Alamango in the 5th minute of play. 7 minutes into the game, John Galdes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Luqa SA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sportaholic Bugibba the free kick. In the 7th minute, John Galdes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th match minute, Sportaholic Bugibba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joseph Cutajar to maneuver through the defense. After 11 minutes of play Luqa SA's John Galdes was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Martin Bonello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Francalanza, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After some careless play in the Luqa SA defense, Edward Francalanza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martin Bonello. The Luqa SA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martin Bonello should have stopped the shot. If Edward Francalanza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Edward Francalanza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sportaholic Bugibba fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. With his leg George Demanuele managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when Luqa SA's Stephen Cassar Overend fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. George Demanuele made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Stephen Cassar Overend sent off a good shot on target. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Stephen Cassar Overend recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. George Demanuele didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andrew Carbonaro went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 58th minute, Stephen Cassar Overend ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. George Demanuele was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Jurgen Quintano charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jurgen Quintano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stephen Cassar Overend in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg George Demanuele saved Sportaholic Bugibba from getting behind. 76 minutes into the match, Sportaholic Bugibba's goal looked a bit too open when Kyle Alamango came free, but George Demanuele reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute Luqa SA were awarded a corner. Michele Grimaud went to the cornerflag to take it. Luqa SA's Nikolai Doublet was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but George Demanuele in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabio Marmara in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martin Bonello prevented the ball from getting in the gole. George Demanuele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stephen Cassar Overend, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stephen Cassar Overend fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Demanuele having to interfere. Luqa SA were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Sportaholic Bugibba to leave the ground with a draw.
