Gary Sant Fournier started the match with the kick off. When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Salvatore Dimech took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Evan Sant to make any attempt to save it. Karl Mintoff charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Karl Mintoff the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rabat Ajax F.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 12th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Marsalforn AFC a penalty, 14 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jacob Rodo , who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rabat Ajax F.C.'s Evan Sant. 2-0. Neville Bolognas short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Evan Sant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Rabat Ajax F.C.'s Evan Sant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvatore Dimech in the 26th minute of play. If Joe Darmanin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paul Gabarretta kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Salvatore Dimech got in the 36th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Evan Sant handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 37 minutes in the game, Salvatore Dimech fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Evan Sant having to interfere. When Marsalforn AFC's Salvatore Dimech in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rabat Ajax F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Jacob Rodo  took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Evan Sant. Rabat Ajax F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Salvatore Dimech made a kick off. 3-1 became the score in the 61st minute when Gary Sant Fournier elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Pierre Zahra hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Evan Sant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salvatore Dimech in the 66th minute of the match. If Gary Sant Fournier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Salvatore Dimech sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 79th minute, Dennis Bigeni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 84 minutes into the match, Rabat Ajax F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Salvatore Dimech came free, but Evan Sant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Marsalforn AFC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Kyle Bongailas hit a great ball. When Gary Sant Fournier came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Rabat Ajax F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gary Sant Fournier couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Marsalforn AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Rabat Ajax F.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
