Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) When Keith Xuereb came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Marsa FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Keith Xuereb couldn't finish the play. Keith Xuereb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gianluca Stellini having to interfere. After 9 played minutes Siggiewi FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonard Vella. The audience was convinced that Keith Xuereb's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gianluca Stellini was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. 14 minutes into the match, Siggiewi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Keith Xuereb came free, but Gianluca Stellini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Marsa FC's goalkeeper Tim Dimech had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edward Bigeni. Keith Xuereb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Gianluca Stellini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Keith Xuereb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Siggiewi FC's Gianluca Stellini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justin Micallef in the 34th minute of play. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by Siggiewi FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ben Lia was slow to take the kick. During this time Marsa FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Ben Lia almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Siggiewi FC's Gianluca Stellini did a great save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Keith Xuereb in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gianluca Stellini prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 43rd minute, Keith Xuereb made a precise shot to the right of Gianluca Stellini. Siggiewi FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as Justin Micallef kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gianluca Stellini. That made the score 0-3 in the 52 minute of play. With his leg Gianluca Stellini managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Marsa FC's Keith Xuereb fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Siggiewi FC's goalkeeper Gianluca Stellini, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 64 minutes, Edward Bigeni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Siggiewi FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Bigeni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edward Bigeni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tim Dimech having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adam Debono in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tim Dimech saved Marsa FC from getting behind. Marsa FC played a much better game than Siggiewi FC and deserved their victory. The Siggiewi FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
