The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wendelin Hirschs short, quick shot in the 4thth minute got Horace Mischler to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 7th match minute, Elsdon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pietro Fischer to maneuver through the defense. Wendelin Hirsch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pietro Fischer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chris Güthoff having to interfere. Horace Mischler came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Brody's Lutz Elkuch. But to his dismay, Lutz Elkuch quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Sixt Simon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chris Güthoff having to interfere. Gökhan Ritter kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Sixt Simon took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Chris Güthoff. Chris Güthoff dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Lutz Elkuch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rasul Müller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chris Güthoff having to interfere. Flavio Weirath struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Horace Mischler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Brody. With his leg Horace Mischler managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when FC Brody's Wendelin Hirsch fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. FC Brody's Rudi Winnepennincks got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 48 played minutes FC Brody got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Haas.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wendelin Hirsch was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wendelin Hirsch in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Horace Mischler saved Elsdon from getting behind. In the 56th match minute, Elsdon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvatore Heller to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wendelin Hirsch in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Horace Mischler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rudi Winnepennincks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Horace Mischler didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wendelin Hirsch went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Horace Mischler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wendelin Hirsch's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. After having played for 76 minutes, Sixt Simon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elsdon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sixt Simon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Wendelin Hirsch managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Brody's supporters rose to their feet, but Wendelin Hirsch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Horace Mischler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wendelin Hirsch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Horace Mischler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Lutz Elkuch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Horace Mischler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wendelin Hirsch's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. FC Brody's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
