The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wendelin Hirsch to strike the kick off in the second half. Christoph Tobler hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After 53 played minutes, Newton Abbot's Herbie Schifferli shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Chris Güthoff came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Newton Abbot reached it. Wendelin Hirsch blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Liborius Mitter having to make a save. If Rudi Winnepennincks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chris Güthoff showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joe Roth in the 65th minute of the match. Liborius Mitter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rudi Winnepennincks in the 66th minute. A collision led to FC Brody getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Wendelin Hirsch hit a great ball. When Rudi Winnepennincks came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the FC Brody fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rudi Winnepennincks couldn't finish the play. FC Brody were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
