Alberto Papa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Corrado Meo in the 21st minute. A collision led to Baldasseria getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Eraldo Barbato hit a great ball. Alberto Papa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ernesto Malandra in the 24th minute. Corrado Meo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Papa having to interfere. Diego Ragazzoni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruno Pelusi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dave Capasso in the 35th minute of play. Ernesto Malandra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Alberto Papa made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dave Capasso in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Pelusi saved SS Lazio calcio from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Corrado Meo to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Baldasseria's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Malandra came free, but Alberto Papa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute Ernesto Malandra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Papa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corrado Meo in the 61st minute of play forced Baldasseria's goalkeeper Alberto Papa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Ernesto Malandra had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alberto Papa. Baldasseria's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernesto Malandra was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Alberto Papa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Malandra, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Baldasseria's Diego Ragazzoni sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bruno Pelusi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Corrado Meo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Papa having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Ciro Rosati notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of SS Lazio calcio's Bruno Pelusi. Bruno Pelusi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
