The audience thought a goal was coming when Domenico Primavera got free with Enzo Cicchini in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half Novedrate were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Cesare Ruscitti made the kick off in the second half. In the 62nd minute, Domenico Primavera made a precise shot to the right of Enzo Cicchini. Novedrate's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. 66 minutes into the match, Gavasseto FC's Cesare Ruscitti sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Enzo Cicchini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Domenico Primavera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Novedrate players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
