If Achille Capaldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the game, Legio XXX Ulpia Victrix 's Enrico Colella nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fortunato Santilli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dino Lauro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Legio XXX Ulpia Victrix 's Diego Cammarota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dino Lauro in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrico Colella in the 55th minute of play forced Bosco AFC's goalkeeper Fortunato Santilli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
