Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dino Lauro got the match started through his kick off. Fortunato Santilli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Biagio Piccinini in the 5th minute of play. Biagio Piccinini took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fortunato Santilli. Fortunato Santilli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, Bosco AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Biagio Piccinini came free, but Fortunato Santilli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute, Armando Marrone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Biagio Piccinini in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fortunato Santilli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Biagio Monti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Biagio Piccinini in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fortunato Santilli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Flavio Zoff managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lions FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Flavio Zoff was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fortunato Santilli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ciccio Musacchio kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. When Biagio Piccinini came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Lions FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Biagio Piccinini couldn't finish the play. Fortunato Santilli didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Flavio Zoff went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Bosco AFC defense, Biagio Piccinini kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fortunato Santilli. The Bosco AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fortunato Santilli should have stopped the shot. After 42 played minutes Bosco AFC got a freekick which was hit by Dave De Meis. After 44 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bosco AFC! In the 45th minute there was a penalty for Lions FC. Biagio Piccinini stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fortunato Santilli. 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Biagio Piccinini was the one to do the kick off. The throw-in from Franco Olivieri in the 55th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Lions FC's Ciccio Musacchio. Flavio Zoff's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fortunato Santilli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Ciccio Musacchio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fortunato Santilli having to interfere. If Biagio Piccinini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Lions FC booed when Bosco AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dave De Meis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fortunato Santilli acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 68th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Biagio Piccinini. After 69 played minutes Lions FC got a freekick which was hit by Ciccio Musacchio. Biagio Piccinini who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Fortunato Santilli when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 72nd minute, Bosco AFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Flavio Zoff fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Dave De Meis hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. If Biagio Piccinini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Ciccio Musacchio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Lions FC's Biagio Piccinini slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fortunato Santilli. That made the score 0-5 after 84 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Flavio Zoff got free with Fortunato Santilli in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 90 minutes into the match, Bosco AFC's goalkeeper Fortunato Santilli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Biagio Piccinini. After having played for 96 minutes, Armin Calcio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lions FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armin Calcio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
