In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Vasszentmihály's goalkeeper Botond Vadász, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Pál Hujber fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Vasszentmihály's protests and gave Pál Hujber a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sporting Vasszentmihály getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Pál Hujber hit a great ball. In the 11th minute, Mátyás Keserű hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Géza Szabó was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 12th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 13th minute, Pál Hujber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zoltán Kántor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Botond Vadász having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Ferenc Dobos in the 19th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Zoltán Kántor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when László Konkoly got free with Vilmos Gulyás in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sporting Vasszentmihály's Botond Vadász played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferenc Dobos in the 27th minute of play. A collision led to Sporting Vasszentmihály getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Pál Hujber hit a great ball. In the 30th minute, Géza Szabó sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sporting Vasszentmihály's Botond Vadász didn't even have to move. After 31 minutes, Mátyás Keserű mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting Vasszentmihály and the Zebegény Garvittax players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 31 played minutes Sporting Vasszentmihály got a freekick which was hit by Mátyás Keserű. Zoltán Kántor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 35th match minute, Zebegény Garvittax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferenc Dobos to maneuver through the defense. Mátyás Keserű hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. If Zoltán Kántor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Levente Puja made a kick off. Botond Vadász made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zoltán Kántor in the 60th minute. When Mátyás Csikós fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Vasszentmihály's protests and gave Mátyás Csikós a yellow card for diving instead. 61 minutes into the game, one of Sporting Vasszentmihály:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 64th minute, Zebegény Garvittax got a penalty, and Géza Szabó placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. Mátyás Keserű was shown his second yellow card after 67 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Zebegény Garvittax booed when Sporting Vasszentmihály was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mátyás Keserű didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Vasszentmihály's zone, Zoltán Kántor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Botond Vadász came out of the goal and Zoltán Kántor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zoltán Kántor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. László Konkoly might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vilmos Gulyás. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. László Konkoly ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 81st match minute, Zebegény Garvittax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bertold Ferenc to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute, László Konkoly left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting Vasszentmihály fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Zoltán Kántor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Botond Vadász read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Sporting Vasszentmihály's Botond Vadász proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Vasszentmihály from getting a goal against them. Zoltán Kántor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Botond Vadász tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 89 played minutes Sporting Vasszentmihály got a freekick which was hit by Levente Puja. Zebegény Garvittax's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
