Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Rátót SE's György Puskás started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Norbert Szentesi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Miklós Márton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 7 minutes into the match, Antal Tímár notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Rátót SE's József Görbe. József Görbe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. József Görbe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tamás Vida's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. A collision led to Rátót SE getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Miklós Fenyves hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Antal Tímár managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Anderlecht's supporters rose to their feet, but Antal Tímár was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. József Görbe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of SC Anderlecht booed when Rátót SE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. György Puskás didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tamás Vida in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg József Görbe saved Rátót SE from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Antal Tímár managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Anderlecht's supporters rose to their feet, but Antal Tímár was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. József Görbe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 36 played minutes Rátót SE got a freekick which was hit by Miklós Fenyves. Norbert Kereki kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. A collision led to Rátót SE getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Kornél Lengyel hit a great ball. József Görbe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tamás Vida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 44 minutes into the match, SC Anderlecht's goalkeeper Miklós Márton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norbert Szentesi. After a rather tough play, SC Anderlecht's Mátyás Rácz got a free kick in the 44th minute. If György Puskás had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Rátót SE players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Anderlecht were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tamás Vida to strike the kick off in the second half. If György Puskás had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. A very good chance. In the 86th minute, Norbert Szentesi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Miklós Márton was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. If Antal Tímár had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. József Görbe stood somewhat misplaced when Antal Tímár came free in front of goal and shot 1-4 to the left of him in the 92 minute. The SC Anderlecht players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
