Zvonimir Mikulić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ninoslav Šilješ, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eduard Knezović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Jamičić, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 28th minute Ivan Jamičić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduard Knezović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Korenica Dunav's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Jamičić came free, but Eduard Knezović reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Donji Miholjac's Stanislav Pleić got a free kick in the 34th minute. The supporters of Donji Miholjac booed when Korenica Dunav was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihael Bartolović didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Žarko Klasnić in the 51st minute of play forced Donji Miholjac's goalkeeper Zvonimir Mikulić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Žarko Klasnić was extremely unlucky when he, in the 63rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Ninoslav Šilješ sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ivan Jamičić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Eduard Knezović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Korenica Dunav's supporters rose to their feet, but Žarko Klasnić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zvonimir Mikulić breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 79 minutes, Žarko Klasnić managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Korenica Dunav's supporters crossed their fingers, but Žarko Klasnić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st minute, Paško Šegović got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eduard Knezović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Jamičić in the 86th minute of play. Korenica Dunav's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Donji Miholjac had won, even though Korenica Dunav had held more of the ball.
