After 4 played minutes Labin got a freekick which was hit by Tito Palinić. The supporters of Varteks booed when Labin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marin Korbar didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 9 minutes, Franko Rakocija mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Labin and the Varteks players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rafael Svinjarević shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Adam Huško sped through Labin's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Petrica Degen. When Varteks's Tomo Janković in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Labin's goalie prevented a goal. Tomo Janković received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Petrica Degen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adam Huško sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 30 minutes, Marin Korbar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Labin and the Varteks players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marin Korbar kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomo Janković in the 33rd minute of play forced Labin's goalkeeper Petrica Degen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomo Janković in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Petrica Degen saved Labin from getting behind. Adam Huško struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Petrica Degen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varteks. Labin's Petrica Degen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomo Janković in the 38th minute of play. Varteks's Tomo Janković got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Petrica Degen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomo Janković's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. The audience was convinced that Adam Huško's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Petrica Degen was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomo Janković to strike the kick off in the second half. Tomo Janković fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petrica Degen having to interfere. Adam Huško could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Petrica Degen made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Tomo Janković kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Petrica Degen. That made the score 0-3 in the 62 minute of play. Adam Huško received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Petrica Degen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gojko Salaj kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. A hard shot 70 in the game by Adam Huško from a close distance when the talented Petrica Degen managed to make a qualified save. Labin's players were relieved. Petrica Degen made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Adam Huško sent off a good shot on target. Petrica Degen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomo Janković, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Labin's Petrica Degen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Labin from getting a goal against them. Adam Huško could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Petrica Degen made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Labin's Marin Korbar got a free kick in the 81st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Tomo Janković managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varteks's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomo Janković was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petrica Degen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adam Huško could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Petrica Degen made a huge save. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Adam Huško got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 97th minute of the match, Marko Granić got a very nice opportunity to score, but Petrica Degen was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When the final whistle sounded Varteks left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Labin.
