The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Nancy were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Raymond Mazel made a kick off. When Morgan Boucaud fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nancy's protests and gave Morgan Boucaud a yellow card for diving instead. Morgan Boucaud kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 66th minute by Hakim Desmet got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After having played for 73 minutes, Nathanaël Gracia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
