After taking down the ball on Red Star F.C.'s corner Eddy Casanova fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jackson Fercoq quite easily take care of the ball. In the 30th minute, Red Star F.C.'s Jordy Lemaire ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jackson Fercoq. Jackson Fercoq yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. After some careless play in the Red Star F.C. defense, John-Paul Gillon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bob Mouchet. The Red Star F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bob Mouchet should have stopped the shot. After 37 played minutes Red Star F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Charles-Emmanuel Varin. Jordy Lemaire was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 40th minute. Red Star F.C.'s manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Jackson Fercoq made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddy Casanova in the 41st minute of play. Red Star F.C.'s Bob Mouchet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John-Paul Gillon in the 44th minute of play. Guillaume Houy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jackson Fercoq read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Daryl Belleville who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Bob Mouchet when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 74 minutes, Maxence Deniel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Red Star F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Maxence Deniel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Red Star F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when John-Paul Gillon came free, but Bob Mouchet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daryl Belleville might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bob Mouchet. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daryl Belleville ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Clichy booed when Red Star F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position.
