In the 4th minute Jordy Lemaire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samir Chanel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samir Chanel came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Red Star F.C.'s Jordy Lemaire. But to his dismay, Jordy Lemaire quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in FC Barcelone's zone, Maxence Deniel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samir Chanel came out of the goal and Maxence Deniel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jordy Lemaire came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Red Star F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jordy Lemaire couldn't finish the play. Lucien Barat kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 19th minute of the match Eddy Casanova shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Samir Chanel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Jordy Lemaire cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Samir Chanel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Red Star F.C.'s Brandon Bolé was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Samir Chanel in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Lucien Barat fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Barcelone's protests and gave Lucien Barat a yellow card for diving instead. After 37 played minutes FC Barcelone got a freekick which was hit by Lucien Barat. Red Star F.C.'s Jordy Lemaire got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, FC Barcelone's Ryan Morais got a free kick in the 39th minute. FC Barcelone's Samir Chanel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guillaume Houy in the 41st minute of play. In the 46th minute, Robin Sabot made a precise shot to the right of Bob Mouchet. Red Star F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mario Patissier made a kick off. After some careless play in the FC Barcelone defense, Guillaume Houy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samir Chanel. The FC Barcelone fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samir Chanel should have stopped the shot. Ryan Morais hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. When Eddy Casanova came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Red Star F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eddy Casanova couldn't finish the play. 66 minutes into the game, Red Star F.C.'s Guillaume Houy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Samir Chanel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-5. 69 minutes into the match, Red Star F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Ryan Morais came free, but Bob Mouchet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Mario Patissier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bob Mouchet was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-5. After a rather tough play, FC Barcelone's Désiré Riant got a free kick in the 75th minute. Guillaume Houy's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 76thth minute, Samir Chanel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 77th minute, Ronald Parage hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bob Mouchet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidney Bérard in the 79th minute of play. Jordy Lemaire's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Samir Chanel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Guillaume Houy had several of the FC Barcelone's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 83 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-6 score and a disappointed Samir Chanel as he didn't even see the shot coming. Jordy Lemaire struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Samir Chanel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Red Star F.C.. Eddy Casanova sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Red Star F.C. left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Barcelone.
