The audience thought a goal was coming when Hans á Bø got free with Klæmint Castilho in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 5th minute, Andrew Joensen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 5th minute, Vikarbyrgi's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Hans á Bø fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 11th minute of the match Bárður Hansen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but John Szekeres showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pól Nielsen in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg John Szekeres saved Víkingur Göta from getting behind. Hans á Bø struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Klæmint Castilho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Víkingur Göta. In the 24th minute, Pól Nielsen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vikarbyrgi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 30 played minutes Vikarbyrgi got a freekick which was hit by Rasmus Simonsen. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jóan Danielsen in the 33rd minute of play forced Víkingur Göta's goalkeeper John Szekeres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jústinus Castilho lost his temper 36 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 36 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Víkingur Göta! In the 38th minute there was a penalty for Vikarbyrgi. Jónleif Anghel stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving John Szekeres. 0-2. 41 minutes into the match, Hans á Bø notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Vikarbyrgi's Klæmint Castilho. Klæmint Castilho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 46 minutes into the match, Víkingur Göta's Hans á Bø sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Klæmint Castilho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jóan Danielsen made a kick off. Hans á Bø fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Klæmint Castilho having to interfere. 54 minutes into the match, Janus Simonsen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Klæmint Castilho. Vikarbyrgi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Janus Simonsen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. 67 minutes into the match, Vikarbyrgi's goal looked a bit too open when Hans á Bø came free, but Klæmint Castilho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute of the match Christian Eysturoy shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but John Szekeres showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Klæmint Castilho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jóhan Jacobsen in the 72nd minute of the match. Pól Nielsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. John Szekeres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th match minute, Víkingur Göta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans á Bø to maneuver through the defense. Hans á Bø was in a good position and ended up with the ball after Víkingur Göta's free kick, but he didn't get a good hit on the ball and blazed it high and to the right of the goal. Hans á Bø struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Klæmint Castilho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Víkingur Göta. Jóhan Jacobsen took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Klæmint Castilho. Klæmint Castilho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Jóan Danielsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute, Christian Jónsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Víkingur Göta walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
