In the 14th minute, Oxel Lopez de Toro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Klāvs Žuromskis was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Oxel Lopez de Toro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 23rd minute Nerio Carceles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Klāvs Žuromskis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Nerio Carceles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Klāvs Žuromskis. Toledo CFSAD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nerio Carceles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Nerio Carceles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Klāvs Žuromskis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Oxel Lopez de Toro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oxel Lopez de Toro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Klāvs Žuromskis having to interfere. Oxel Lopez de Toro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oxel Lopez de Toro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Klāvs Žuromskis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Toledo CFSAD's goal looked a bit too open when Oxel Lopez de Toro came free, but Klāvs Žuromskis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Toledo CFSAD's Yader Taules got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half Atlético Monterrey were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oxel Lopez de Toro to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Atlético Monterrey's Oxel Lopez de Toro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Yader Taules fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xabat Casanova having to interfere. Toledo CFSAD's Yader Taules got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 74th minute, Taurino Palacios hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanasis Touronis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Xabat Casanova tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oxel Lopez de Toro in the 87th minute of play forced Toledo CFSAD's goalkeeper Klāvs Žuromskis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Oxel Lopez de Toro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Klāvs Žuromskis was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Oxel Lopez de Toro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Monterrey's supporters rose to their feet, but Oxel Lopez de Toro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Klāvs Žuromskis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 92 minutes into the game, Atlético Monterrey's Nerio Carceles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Klāvs Žuromskis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. In the 94th minute, Yader Taules hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atlético Monterrey's Paul Gimeno couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 99th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Toledo CFSAD. The Toledo CFSAD supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Atlético Monterrey's performance. The match ended with a win for Atlético Monterrey.
