But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sarracino Barbosa couldn't finish the play. 12 minutes into the match, Valchillon's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Alonso came free, but Caton Sierra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alex Mendez hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Unai Montes struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Caton Sierra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Frankfurt United. Frankfurt United's Eloy Puyol got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 23rd minute Eloy Puyol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caton Sierra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eloy Puyol in the 33rd minute of play forced Valchillon's goalkeeper Caton Sierra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eloy Puyol blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Caton Sierra having to make a save. Unai Montes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sarracino Barbosa in the 38thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Eloy Puyol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caton Sierra having to interfere. The long shot by Frantzes Soto in the 55th minute really tested Severiano Ortega's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 57th minute, Juanito Briso reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Severiano Ortega. The goal made the score 1-1. One of Frankfurt United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Valchillon:s goal. When the match had been going on for 62 minutes, Valchillon's Rosalio Noya got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Severiano Ortega. If Alex Mendez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabio Durango in the 74th minute of play forced Frankfurt United's goalkeeper Severiano Ortega to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Frankfurt United booed when Valchillon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frantzes Soto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute, one of Valchillon:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Valchillon. Frankfurt United's Severiano Ortega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabio Durango in the 82nd minute of play. Juanito Briso hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Juanito Briso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Severiano Ortega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Eloy Puyol managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frankfurt United's supporters rose to their feet, but Eloy Puyol was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Caton Sierra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chants of Valchillon echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Frankfurt United had held the ball for most of the match.
