After a defensive mix-up in Neva Team's zone, Gomesano Segura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aitor Calatayud came out of the goal and Gomesano Segura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Neva Team's Aitor Calatayud got control of the ball when Uriel Zubizarreta tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Uriel Zubizarreta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Gomesano Segura got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Otero hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Gomesano Segura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aitor Calatayud having to interfere. Patricio Diaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Aitor Calatayud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Uriel Zubizarreta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Uriel Zubizarreta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aitor Calatayud having to interfere. In the 38th minute Daniel Otero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aitor Calatayud saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aitor Calatayud took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Uriel Zubizarreta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Los Marines UD's José Maria Cordeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 45 played minutes Neva Team got a freekick which was hit by Luis-Antonio Casillas. After having played for 48 minutes, Gomesano Segura managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Marines UD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gomesano Segura was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After 54 played minutes Neva Team got a freekick which was hit by Luis-Antonio Casillas. 56 minutes into the match, Uriel Zubizarreta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aitor Calatayud. Neva Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Uriel Zubizarreta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Uriel Zubizarreta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Los Marines UD were the better team. Los Marines UD's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
