The referee ignored FC Steaua București's protests and gave Giro Mangas a yellow card for diving instead. Giro Mangas hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Viavelez's zone, Vermudo Alavedra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Solustiano Pareja came out of the goal and Vermudo Alavedra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 20th minute, Demario Torrent ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Solustiano Pareja was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Demario Torrent managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Steaua București's supporters rose to their feet, but Demario Torrent was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Solustiano Pareja breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Demario Torrent recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eliu Carro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Giro Mangas hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Eliu Macho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bastia Alfaro in the 36th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Demario Torrent stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Solustiano Pareja showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Demario Torrent, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Mauro Olano's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Solustiano Pareja firmly grabbed it by the left post. Eliu Macho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltasar Pantoja, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vermudo Alavedra came free with the goalkeeper in the 62nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Solustiano Pareja could save by the left post. The supporters of FC Steaua București booed when Viavelez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicasio Salan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Demario Torrent sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Steaua București's Demario Torrent got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Viavelez defense, Eliu Carro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Solustiano Pareja. The Viavelez fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Solustiano Pareja should have stopped the shot. When FC Steaua București's Demario Torrent in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Solustiano Pareja showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Demario Torrent in the 75th minute of the match. Viavelez's Solustiano Pareja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blas Cuevas in the 76th minute of play. In the 90th minute of the match Simon Maldonado shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eliu Macho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Solustiano Pareja came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by FC Steaua București's Mauro Olano. But to his dismay, Mauro Olano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. The Viavelez fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Steaua București were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
