Soutochao Santa Maria SAD's Rutenio Portillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berbiz santillana in the 35th minute of play. Dolfo Morales hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Zacarías Doblas kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Soutochao Santa Maria SAD's Fran Aguilo got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th minute, Dolfo Morales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Tigers Alicante C.F were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Berbiz santillana was the one to do the kick off. After 65 minutes of play, Soutochao Santa Maria SAD's Fernando Sans made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hanni Bermejo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rodney Beloki's late challenge caught a Tigers Alicante C.F's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodney Beloki helped the player get up and apologised. Dolfo Morales hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 2-1 became the score in the 84th minute when Rodney Beloki elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Elian Rivera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dolfo Morales came free in the 96th minute and tried to tip the ball over Rutenio Portillo, but to the joy of Soutochao Santa Maria SAD's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. There was no doubt that Soutochao Santa Maria SAD were the better team. Soutochao Santa Maria SAD's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
