One of Ribadeo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Penalito:s goal. The goalkeeper, Evarado Naranjo, was totally fooled by Penalito's Caton Feal, who 25 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Marcelino Lopez de Toro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodolfo Maldonado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Ribadeo's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Rivera came free, but Evarado Naranjo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgard Rivera stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Ribadeo got a freekick which was hit by Louis Torres. Penalito's Rodolfo Maldonado got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valery Sánchez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antxo Olmedo in the 62nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Antxo Olmedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ribadeo's supporters rose to their feet, but Antxo Olmedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valery Sánchez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valery Sánchez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antxo Olmedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 74 minutes into the match, Rodolfo Maldonado notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Ribadeo's Evarado Naranjo. Evarado Naranjo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ribadeo's Evarado Naranjo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Rivera in the 80th minute of play. Rodolfo Maldonado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Evarado Naranjo having to make a save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Penalito fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ribadeo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
