Bernardo Valverde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Checa Sauca having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Ventura Jubera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cordero Amer got free with Checa Sauca in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 16th minute Leobardo Zurica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artemio Noya saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cordero Amer received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Checa Sauca came out and tried to block the shot, but Cordero Amer slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 20th minute. Adelio Alabern might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Checa Sauca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adelio Alabern ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 32 minutes, Bernardo Valverde managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real sociedad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardo Valverde was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 34th minute, Mino Puig left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Igualada AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Cordeiro Aguilo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mino Puig stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Cordero Amer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Checa Sauca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierres Quiroga, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Real sociedad's Cordero Amer got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Real sociedad's Cordeiro Aguilo got a free kick in the 69th minute. Mino Alcaraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Checa Sauca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aranguiz Harroyo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Checa Sauca having to interfere. In the 82nd match minute, Igualada AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Playo Helguera to maneuver through the defense. Real sociedad's Aranguiz Harroyo got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Eneko Viejo fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Igualada AFC's protests and gave Eneko Viejo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Igualada AFC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Eneko Viejo hit a great ball. Checa Sauca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Epicuro Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Eneko Viejo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 91 minutes had been played. After 92 played minutes Igualada AFC got a freekick which was hit by Eneko Viejo. 95 minutes into the game, Real sociedad's Epicuro Castro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Checa Sauca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Real sociedad fully deserved thier win.
