Spectators: 7993 (Terracing: 5996, Seating: 1838, VIP seats: 159) Sporting CP's Victoriano Zurica started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victoriano Zurica in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gregorio Bouzon saved Valencia FC from getting behind. In the 17thth minute of the game Victoriano Zurica who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Valencia FC's Gregorio Bouzon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. David Aznar might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gregorio Bouzon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. David Aznar ran back to his position shaking his head. Oxel Verges kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Bartolo Casero made a precise shot to the right of Gregorio Bouzon. Valencia FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 33rd minute, Josu Cabada got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Valencia FC's Vitor Cambero got a free kick in the 35th minute. Artzai Galnares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregorio Bouzon having to interfere. In the 38th minute David Aznar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregorio Bouzon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Victoriano Zurica managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting CP's supporters rose to their feet, but Victoriano Zurica was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gregorio Bouzon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Josu Cabada kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Valencia FC's goalkeeper Gregorio Bouzon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A well-hit corner resulted in Oxel Verges heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Gregorio Bouzon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Artzai Galnares in the 72nd minute. Victoriano Zurica who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Gregorio Bouzon when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartolo Casero in the 74th minute of play forced Valencia FC's goalkeeper Gregorio Bouzon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eusebio Menendez hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Artzai Galnares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Valencia FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gregorio Bouzon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victoriano Zurica went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. When the match was over Sporting CP could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Valencia FC throughout the match.
