After a rather tough play, F.C. Tarragona U21-U23's Xacintu Aballe got a free kick in the 26th minute. After recieving a nice pass, República's Silverio Abad tried to score from far away in the 27th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Eduardo Ponce De Leon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xacintu Paredes having to interfere. Xacintu Paredes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matxin Zárate, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matxin Zárate's late challenge caught a F.C. Tarragona U21-U23's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matxin Zárate helped the player get up and apologised. Matxin Zárate hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Teobaldo Ruiz to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in República's zone, Urtungo Bouzon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Antonio Caballero came out of the goal and Urtungo Bouzon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, F.C. Tarragona U21-U23's Fructuoso Esteban got a free kick in the 55th minute. When Eduardo Ponce De Leon came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the República fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Ponce De Leon couldn't finish the play. In the 57th minute, Uroš Djordjević made a precise shot to the right of Xacintu Paredes. F.C. Tarragona U21-U23's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Xacintu Paredes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eduardo Ponce De Leon's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. In the 63rd minute Matxin Zárate shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xacintu Paredes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tino Molina charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tino Molina the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 70 played minutes F.C. Tarragona U21-U23 got a freekick which was hit by Tino Molina. Matxin Zárate might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Xacintu Paredes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Matxin Zárate ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 73rd match minute, F.C. Tarragona U21-U23 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teobaldo Ruiz to maneuver through the defense. Xacintu Paredes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eduardo Ponce De Leon went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. 77 minutes into the game, Uroš Djordjević cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Xacintu Paredes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Ponce De Leon in the 90th minute of play forced F.C. Tarragona U21-U23's goalkeeper Xacintu Paredes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 96 minutes, Michael Babia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the República and the F.C. Tarragona U21-U23 players grew even worse after the yellow card.
