After a defensive mix-up in Mariager IF's zone, Ernst Kjærvang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franz Ellemand came out of the goal and Ernst Kjærvang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Franz Ellemand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernst Kjærvang in the 7th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Esben Nilander's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christoffer Ganwills was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Esben Nilander could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Christoffer Ganwills made a huge save. Diego Holsmose fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christoffer Ganwills having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Ernst Kjærvang ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Franz Ellemand was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. When Ernst Kjærvang came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Splash AC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernst Kjærvang couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eskil Bastheim in the 36th minute of play forced Splash AC's goalkeeper Christoffer Ganwills to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Splash AC's Ernst Kjærvang got a free kick in the 37th minute. Tage Pern hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Esben Nilander struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Christoffer Ganwills didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mariager IF. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Esben Nilander to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Splash AC got a freekick which was hit by Ernst Kjærvang. Isak Sjællænder's late challenge caught a Mariager IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isak Sjællænder helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Splash AC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 54th minute. Penalty! Christoffer Ganwills went to the wrong direction when Diego Holsmose was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 67thth minute of the game Ernst Kjærvang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mariager IF's Franz Ellemand was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Splash AC's Thue Varmdorf nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Franz Ellemand made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Franz Ellemand made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thue Varmdorf in the 72nd minute. In the 76th minute Esben Nilander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christoffer Ganwills saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tage Pern received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Franz Ellemand came out and tried to block the shot, but Tage Pern slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 81st minute. After 84 played minutes Splash AC got a freekick which was hit by Ernst Kjærvang. 92 minutes into the game, Ernst Kjærvang recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Franz Ellemand. Ernst Kjærvang showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. Franz Ellemand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernst Kjærvang in the 95th minute of the match. After 96 minutes, Andre Sauvr mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mariager IF and the Splash AC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Splash AC booed when Mariager IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andre Sauvr didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernst Kjærvang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Franz Ellemand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
