Blue Lions FC's Dankward Hagen got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FC Gerolstein's Eberhard Meier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save FC Gerolstein from getting a goal against them. 43 minutes into the match, Karl-Georg Bartels notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Blue Lions FC's Safet Schramm. Safet Schramm was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half FC Gerolstein were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Frederik Walde made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederik Walde in the 51st minute of play forced Blue Lions FC's goalkeeper Safet Schramm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eberhard Meier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dankward Hagen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Dankward Hagen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blue Lions FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dankward Hagen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eberhard Meier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dankward Hagen got in the 58th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Eberhard Meier handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. A collision led to FC Gerolstein getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Viktor Schneidewind hit a great ball. Karl-Georg Bartels could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Safet Schramm made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Blue Lions FC's Christoph Sellmann got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, Gerold Joder sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Blue Lions FC's Safet Schramm didn't even have to move. 67 minutes into the game, Donny Jüngling cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Safet Schramm was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Karl-Georg Bartels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eberhard Meier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dankward Hagen in the 86th minute of the match. After 88 played minutes Blue Lions FC got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Wilhelm. In the 93rd match minute, Blue Lions FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Folko Rank to maneuver through the defense. Karl-Georg Bartels could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Safet Schramm made a huge save.
