After 13 minutes of play, FC Ormont's Rainer Hollinghausen made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eberhard Meier was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Eckehard Dupke fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Ormont's protests and gave Eckehard Dupke a yellow card for diving instead. After 16 played minutes FC Ormont got a freekick which was hit by Eckehard Dupke. Rainer Hollinghausen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Eberhard Meier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Ormont's goalkeeper Ferit Petzolt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eckehard Dupke in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eberhard Meier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, FC Ormont's Wolf Bock got a free kick in the 26th minute. After 31st play minutes Rainer Hollinghausen shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Eberhard Meier and just under the crossbar into goal. Rainer Hollinghausen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute Eckehard Dupke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eberhard Meier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Viktor Schneidewind fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Gerolstein's protests and gave Viktor Schneidewind a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st match minute, FC Gerolstein was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Viktor Schneidewind to maneuver through the defense. 43 minutes into the match, FC Gerolstein's goal looked a bit too open when Eckehard Dupke came free, but Eberhard Meier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frederik Walde made a kick off. When Viktor Schneidewind was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 51 minutes had been played. Feodor Prause lost his temper 57 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of FC Gerolstein:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Ormont:s goal. FC Gerolstein's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Rainer Hollinghausen 65 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. Rainer Hollinghausen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eberhard Meier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eckehard Dupke in the 71st minute. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Eckehard Dupke sped through FC Gerolstein's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eberhard Meier. With a little luck, FC Gerolstein's Eberhard Meier got control of the ball when Eckehard Dupke tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rainer Hollinghausen in the 79th minute of play forced FC Gerolstein's goalkeeper Eberhard Meier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tom Brandi kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eckehard Dupke got free with Eberhard Meier in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Rainer Hollinghausen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rainer Hollinghausen struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Eberhard Meier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Ormont. The FC Gerolstein supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC Ormont's performance. The match ended with a win for FC Ormont.
