Konstantin Gradistanac fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Brechtheimer having to interfere. Edgar Brechtheimer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldemar Aust in the 7th minute of play. Edgar Brechtheimer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Konstantin Gradistanac's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hagen Knodel during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 13 minutes into the match, Ephraim Schapper dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Heiko Blachstein, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hagen Knodel in the 17th minute of play forced Eberstadt Pfungstadt's goalkeeper Edgar Brechtheimer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Konstantin Gradistanac sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Heiko Blachstein didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Christos Weckenmann went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 27 minutes into the match, Konstantin Gradistanac had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgar Brechtheimer. Eberstadt Pfungstadt's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Konstantin Gradistanac was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 30th minute, Willi Pedersen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edgar Brechtheimer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldemar Aust, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Konstantin Gradistanac fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Brechtheimer having to interfere. Waldemar Aust received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Edgar Brechtheimer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Konstantin Gradistanac ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edgar Brechtheimer was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ephraim Schapper to strike the kick off in the second half. Edgar Brechtheimer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Waldemar Aust in the 58th minute. Konstantin Gradistanac fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Brechtheimer having to interfere. In the 61st minute Konstantin Gradistanac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Brechtheimer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christos Weckenmann in the 64th minute of play forced Gengenbacher FC's goalkeeper Heiko Blachstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 66 in the game by Waldemar Aust from a close distance when the talented Edgar Brechtheimer managed to make a qualified save. Eberstadt Pfungstadt's players were relieved. When Konstantin Gradistanac came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Gengenbacher FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Konstantin Gradistanac couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Eberstadt Pfungstadt's zone, Waldemar Aust stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Brechtheimer came out of the goal and Waldemar Aust tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Christos Weckenmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgar Brechtheimer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Konstantin Gradistanac in the 85th minute of the match. Gengenbacher FC's Waldemar Aust came free and shot a quick shot against goal 86 minutes in the game, fortunately Edgar Brechtheimer had problems saving as it came toward the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Konstantin Gradistanac kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edgar Brechtheimer. That made the score 2-3 in the 87 minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Waldemar Aust notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Eberstadt Pfungstadt's Edgar Brechtheimer. Edgar Brechtheimer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Willi Pedersen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Heiko Blachstein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
