Karl Bion hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. FSV Harz Thale were furious when Rutger Balterschütz was red carded, 7 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in FSV Harz Thale fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 6th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Thorsten Becker, was totally fooled by Cem United's Rüdiger Heidingsfelder, who 9 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Thorsten Becker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Haraszti in the 13th minute of the match. Tom Deckers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karel Brockes, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. The supporters of Cem United booed when FSV Harz Thale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sönke Grupe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thorsten Becker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loris Kump, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Cem United's zone, Karel Brockes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tom Deckers came out of the goal and Karel Brockes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Thorsten Becker successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Tom Deckers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karel Brockes, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. FSV Harz Thale's Karel Brockes got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Karel Brockes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Tom Deckers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Hossam Hurst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cliff Beneyto Arago to strike the kick off in the second half. FSV Harz Thale's Thorsten Becker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennis Weninger in the 51st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cem United's Dennis Weninger got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Cem United's Tom Deckers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Cem United from getting a goal against them. The supporters of FSV Harz Thale booed when Cem United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dennis Weninger didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Karel Brockes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karel Brockes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FSV Harz Thale's Karel Brockes got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Karel Brockes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wolf Boxberger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Tom Deckers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 89 minutes, Karel Brockes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FSV Harz Thale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karel Brockes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Cem United's Dennis Weninger got a free kick in the 93rd minute. After a rather tough play, FSV Harz Thale's Hossam Hurst got a free kick in the 94th minute. The Cem United players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
