Elmar Bordorf came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Niederseeste FC's Ephraim Quabeck. But to his dismay, Ephraim Quabeck quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 13th minute Miroslav Lockfisch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elmar Bordorf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the FC Union Mühlhausen defense, Miroslav Lockfisch kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elmar Bordorf. The FC Union Mühlhausen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elmar Bordorf should have stopped the shot. Elmar Bordorf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miroslav Lockfisch, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Ulf Kozub fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hubert Feindt having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Miroslav Lockfisch had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elmar Bordorf. FC Union Mühlhausen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miroslav Lockfisch was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. FC Union Mühlhausen's Elmar Bordorf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andi Klaeden in the 28th minute of play. In the 31st minute of the match Jens Bose sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elmar Bordorf skillfully saved the ball. In the 33rd match minute, Niederseeste FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ephraim Quabeck to maneuver through the defense. After 35 played minutes Niederseeste FC got a freekick which was hit by Herbert Grein. Miroslav Lockfisch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Elmar Bordorf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jan Kubica's late challenge caught a Niederseeste FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jan Kubica helped the player get up and apologised. Jan Kubica kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 46th minute of the match Jakob Kiesel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elmar Bordorf skillfully saved the ball. Miroslav Lockfisch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Elmar Bordorf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Niederseeste FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Hannes Goldmann's late challenge caught a FC Union Mühlhausen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hannes Goldmann helped the player get up and apologised. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Niederseeste FC! Bo Söhner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rudolf Wald hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Emil Welz, 70 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Niederseeste FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ulf Kozub came free, but Hubert Feindt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Herbert Grein during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Herbert Grein hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Andi Klaeden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elmar Bordorf having to interfere. Miroslav Lockfisch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Niederseeste FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
