Gelsenkirchen United's Jerome Heerckes got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 15 minutes into the game, Gelsenkirchen United's Wilhelm Obermeier nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Friedrich Schwartz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 21st minute, Wilhelm Obermeier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Colonia Agrippina's zone, Abdul Boehme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Friedrich Schwartz came out of the goal and Abdul Boehme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Colonia Agrippina booed when Gelsenkirchen United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerome Heerckes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Colonia Agrippina's goal looked a bit too open when Pablo Lütkebohmert came free, but Friedrich Schwartz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The wind increased when Alec Hörbelt made the kick off in the second half. Wilhelm Obermeier who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Friedrich Schwartz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The throw-in from Dario Langhammer in the 56th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Colonia Agrippina's Dimo Rübin. 57 minutes into the game, Dario Langhammer threw the ball into play from the sideline. Colonia Agrippina's Rupert Renger quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Abdul Boehme blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Friedrich Schwartz having to make a save. Thanks to some nice moves Abdul Boehme could shoot a difficult shot in the 63rd minute, which Friedrich Schwartz however easily saved by the left post. Jerome Heerckes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Friedrich Schwartz came out and tried to block the shot, but Jerome Heerckes slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 64th minute. Friedrich Schwartz stood somewhat misplaced when Abdul Boehme came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 70 minute. After 75 played minutes Gelsenkirchen United got a freekick which was hit by Abdul Boehme. Jerome Heerckes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Friedrich Schwartz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Wilhelm Obermeier reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Friedrich Schwartz. The goal made the score 0-5. Gelsenkirchen United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
