The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 9th minute Günter Schepers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Palle Sandt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Palle Sandt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Günter Schepers, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Edgar Faber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With 23 minutes on the clock, Gerard Lapczinski commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee gave Ottershofen a penalty, 25 minutes into the game. Wendelin Hennicke received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sebastian Fuchs came out and tried to block the shot, but Wendelin Hennicke slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 36th minute. 42 minutes into the match, Ottershofen's Wendelin Hennicke sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastian Fuchs narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ottershofen's Wendelin Hennicke got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, L.E. GrünWeiß's Erik Möller got a free kick in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wendelin Hennicke to strike the kick off in the second half. When Gerd Schellheimer came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Ottershofen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerd Schellheimer couldn't finish the play. Wendelin Hennicke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mattis Baumbach during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Wendelin Hennicke put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Sebastian Fuchs. 77 minutes into the game, Ottershofen's Mike Bollwerk nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sebastian Fuchs made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. When Ottershofen's Wendelin Hennicke in 81 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Sebastian Fuchs guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After 83 played minutes L.E. GrünWeiß got a freekick which was hit by Tobias Dötsch. Palle Sandt made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Edgar Faber sent off a good shot on target. Harald Mappus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Palle Sandt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ottershofen's Thilo Tieße got a free kick in the 91st minute. L.E. GrünWeiß's Sebastian Fuchs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mike Bollwerk in the 94th minute of play. If Edgar Faber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
