An unexpected shot in the 21st minute by Johan Poß got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Johannes-Markus Bix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mischa Vinkemeier in the 32nd minute of the match. Maximilian Schriml made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ubbo Dohrmann in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johan Poß in the 36th minute of play forced Rubensburg's goalkeeper Maximilian Schriml to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Rubensburg fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Rubensburg's Mischa Vinkemeier looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Akim Breilmann charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Akim Breilmann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Rubensburg getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Akim Breilmann hit a great ball. Maximilian Schriml didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 45th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Johan Poß to strike the kick off in the second half. Mischa Vinkemeier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johannes-Markus Bix having to interfere. Stephan Schleuter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johannes-Markus Bix having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Mischa Vinkemeier fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Johannes-Markus Bix, passed just outside the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Rubensburg's zone, Johan Poß stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maximilian Schriml came out of the goal and Johan Poß tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 71st minute, Pitt Busshoff hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd minute, Ubbo Dohrmann left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FSV Thale 22 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Maximilian Schriml made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johan Poß in the 79th minute of play. Jürgen Miskiewicz struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Johannes-Markus Bix didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rubensburg. Maximilian Schriml took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ubbo Dohrmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maximilian Schriml made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ubbo Dohrmann in the 84th minute of play. Ubbo Dohrmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximilian Schriml having to interfere. In the 95th minute Ubbo Dohrmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximilian Schriml saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The FSV Thale 22 supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Rubensburg's performance. The match ended with a win for Rubensburg.
