SG Massen's Jakov Fleiner got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gerrit Zurcher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Balthasar Korsus, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Berthold Lindlohr took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ashley Burgbacher. SG Massen's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, SG Massen's Balthasar Korsus sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gerrit Zurcher narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ashley Burgbacher didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adrian Wöhrl went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 23 minutes, Jakov Fleiner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SG Massen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jakov Fleiner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gerrit Zurcher stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Balthasar Korsus's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. 25 minutes into the game, Veit Wojewski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bannemin's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SG Massen the free kick. Jakov Fleiner's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerrit Zurcher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Balthasar Korsus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerrit Zurcher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jakov Fleiner in the 41st minute of the match. Adrian Wöhrl blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ashley Burgbacher having to make a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emiliano Spickenreither to make the kick off. When Balthasar Korsus came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the SG Massen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Balthasar Korsus couldn't finish the play. 59 minutes into the game, SG Massen's Balthasar Korsus nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gerrit Zurcher made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 63 minutes into the game, SG Massen's Alwin Gooß nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. In the 75thth minute of the game Emiliano Spickenreither who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SG Massen's Ashley Burgbacher was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jakov Fleiner in the 78thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gerrit Zurcher, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Balthasar Korsus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerrit Zurcher having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jakov Fleiner got free with Gerrit Zurcher in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gerrit Zurcher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Balthasar Korsus in the 83rd minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, Jakov Fleiner recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gerrit Zurcher. Jakov Fleiner showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. The SG Massen supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SG Massen would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
