In the 16thth minute of the game Noel Wolf who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Merl FSV's Thorsten Ahnsorge was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arne Doderer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Heribert Scholl in the 24th minute. After 26th play minutes Heribert Scholl shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Arne Doderer and just under the crossbar into goal. Ittersbach FC's Arne Doderer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Ittersbach FC from getting a goal against them. Pascal Krug charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pascal Krug the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th minute of the match Noel Wolf sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thorsten Ahnsorge skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Merl FSV getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Andi Inger hit a great ball. Arne Doderer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Heribert Scholl in the 44th minute. The supporters of Ittersbach FC booed when Merl FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willi Brechtheimer didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nils Olejmeulen made a kick off. In the 54th match minute, Merl FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toni Breuer to maneuver through the defense. Sven Bister sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnulf Holstein hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. When Merl FSV's Heribert Scholl in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ittersbach FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Merl FSV.
