Spectators: 7446 (Terracing: 5586, Seating: 1712, VIP seats: 148) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Folker Fortuna started the match with the kick off. If Helmuth Forst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 6th match minute, Die Löwen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sascha Lichy to maneuver through the defense. FC Hofmühle's Otfried Graichen couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 8th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Die Löwen. If Folker Fortuna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Kurt Holstein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Folker Fortuna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aimo Konschal having to interfere. Aimo Konschal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Holstein, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Helmuth Forst blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nikolaos Philipp having to make a save. 22 minutes into the game, Sascha Lichy recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nikolaos Philipp. Sascha Lichy showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 25 minutes into the match, Sascha Lichy dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nikolaos Philipp, 2-0. Aimo Konschal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Folker Fortuna in the 28th minute of play. In the 32nd minute Folker Fortuna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aimo Konschal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Die Löwen's Claus Heinrichs got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Kurt Holstein received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Aimo Konschal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nikolaos Philipp made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Helmuth Forst sent off a good shot on target. In the 42nd match minute, FC Hofmühle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Janusz Schwartz to maneuver through the defense. Helmuth Forst struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Nikolaos Philipp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Die Löwen. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sascha Lichy was the one to do the kick off. Helmuth Forst struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Nikolaos Philipp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Die Löwen. 54 minutes into the match, FC Hofmühle's goal looked a bit too open when Sascha Lichy came free, but Nikolaos Philipp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Folker Fortuna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aimo Konschal having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Kurt Holstein ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aimo Konschal was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Die Löwen's Aimo Konschal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Folker Fortuna in the 72nd minute of play. If Helmuth Forst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Die Löwen's Gero Weisbrod pulled a muscle in his leg after 75 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Kai Falke fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Hofmühle's protests and gave Kai Falke a yellow card for diving instead. After 76 played minutes FC Hofmühle got a freekick which was hit by Kai Falke. Helmuth Forst blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nikolaos Philipp having to make a save. Die Löwen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 81st minute, when Folker Fortuna scored to the left of an out of position Aimo Konschal, making the score, 3-2. In the 86th minute, Albert Glieder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 90 minutes, Achim Kirchhoff managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Hofmühle's supporters crossed their fingers, but Achim Kirchhoff was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 90th match minute, Die Löwen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claus Heinrichs to maneuver through the defense. Helmuth Forst received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Nikolaos Philipp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Hofmühle players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Die Löwen.
