Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Niklaus Schwarzfischer started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Köchingen booed when STV Horst was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benni Caspary didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Kalvelage in the 5th minute of play forced STV Horst's goalkeeper Benny Pelzer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jörg Kolbe got free with Paul Amelung in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benny Pelzer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niklaus Schwarzfischer in the 10th minute of the match. A collision led to Köchingen getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Vicco Wesseler hit a great ball. Frederik Fährmann's late challenge caught a Köchingen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frederik Fährmann helped the player get up and apologised. Frederik Fährmann hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 19 minutes into the game, Richard Kalvelage cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Benny Pelzer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 25thth minute of the game Richard Kalvelage who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but STV Horst's Benny Pelzer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 28 minutes into the match, STV Horst's goal looked a bit too open when Niklaus Schwarzfischer came free, but Benny Pelzer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Niklaus Schwarzfischer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benny Pelzer having to interfere. STV Horst's Jörg Kolbe got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Niklaus Schwarzfischer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benny Pelzer was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. If Niklaus Schwarzfischer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lars Krützfeld fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored STV Horst's protests and gave Lars Krützfeld a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th minute, Lars Krützfeld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fritz Burkart, 39 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Benny Pelzer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Richard Kalvelage's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. After having played for 47 minutes, Jörg Kolbe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. STV Horst's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jörg Kolbe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benni Caspary was the one to do the kick off. Richard Kalvelage's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benny Pelzer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Köchingen's zone, Jörg Kolbe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paul Amelung came out of the goal and Jörg Kolbe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 56 minutes, Dan Isele mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the STV Horst and the Köchingen players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 56 played minutes STV Horst got a freekick which was hit by Dan Isele. 68 minutes into the match, Köchingen's Niklaus Schwarzfischer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benny Pelzer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. STV Horst's Benni Caspary got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jörg Kolbe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jörg Kolbe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Amelung having to interfere. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Köchingen! In the 80th minute there was a penalty for STV Horst. Frederik Fährmann stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Paul Amelung. 1-2. After 84 played minutes Köchingen got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Grüner. Günter Baumann's late challenge caught a STV Horst's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Günter Baumann helped the player get up and apologised. 87 minutes into the match, STV Horst's Frederik Fährmann broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Richard Kalvelage sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frido Krügel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Paul Amelung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The STV Horst supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Köchingen's performance. The match ended with a win for Köchingen.
