Frederik Fährmann hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Godo Drews fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benny Pelzer having to interfere. Benni Caspary received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Gianni Schanne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 10th minute, Jörg Kolbe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benni Caspary received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Gianni Schanne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jörg Kolbe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benni Caspary sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gunnar Weinert hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute of the match Frederik Fährmann sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gianni Schanne skillfully saved the ball. After 27 minutes, Gunnar Weinert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Melbeck and the STV Horst players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Melbeck's Gunnar Weinert got a free kick in the 27th minute. Mike Heiske hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Gianni Schanne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benni Caspary, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jörg Kolbe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Gianni Schanne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Benni Caspary reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gianni Schanne. The goal made the score 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benni Caspary in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gianni Schanne saved Melbeck from getting behind. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benni Caspary to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jörg Kolbe in the 51st minute of play forced Melbeck's goalkeeper Gianni Schanne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Godo Drews in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benny Pelzer saved STV Horst from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Melbeck's zone, Benni Caspary stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gianni Schanne came out of the goal and Benni Caspary tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benni Caspary recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gianni Schanne didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jörg Kolbe went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 82 minutes, Jörg Kolbe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. STV Horst's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jörg Kolbe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Täve Nemitz kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. STV Horst's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Frederik Fährmann in the 87th minute. The corner led STV Horst's Frederik Fährmann to fire away a dangerous shot which Gianni Schanne despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Benni Caspary received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Gianni Schanne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
