But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erich Rau couldn't finish the play. 6 minutes into the game, Gregor Pflüger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC WuTang's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Reelpool TM the free kick. The supporters of Reelpool TM booed when FC WuTang was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregor Pflüger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reelpool TM's Erich Rau managed to work through FC WuTang's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Erich Rau dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Ludger Eckstein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erich Rau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Michael Trendelenburg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Gregor Pflüger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Erich Rau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of FC WuTang booed when Reelpool TM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raphael Söbbe didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute of the match Yildiray Gradistanac sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hemmo Peddinghaus skillfully saved the ball. Holger Mouratidis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Holger Mouratidis in the 26th minute of play forced Reelpool TM's goalkeeper Hemmo Peddinghaus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Javier Glenski scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hemmo Peddinghaus, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Javier Glenski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 34 played minutes Reelpool TM got a freekick which was hit by Raphael Söbbe. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Holger Mouratidis in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hemmo Peddinghaus prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Holger Mouratidis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hemmo Peddinghaus having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juliane Batsch during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. FC WuTang's Gregor Pflüger got his second yellow card of the match in the 43rd minute. The referee ordered Gregor Pflüger off the ground. After 43 played minutes FC WuTang got a freekick which was hit by Gregor Pflüger. Ludger Eckstein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Trendelenburg having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Holger Mouratidis was the one to do the kick off. Erich Rau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Michael Trendelenburg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Michael Trendelenburg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erich Rau in the 58th minute of play. A collision led to Reelpool TM getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Raphael Söbbe hit a great ball. Michael Trendelenburg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ludger Eckstein in the 67th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Ludger Eckstein notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of FC WuTang's Michael Trendelenburg. Michael Trendelenburg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Erich Rau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michael Trendelenburg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ludger Eckstein in the 84th minute of the match. Erich Rau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erich Rau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Trendelenburg having to interfere. Hemmo Peddinghaus made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Holger Mouratidis sent off a good shot on target. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
