Sieverslake's Sigurd Drengenburg started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Merdingen FC's Roland Ulbrich nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Markus Junker made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of Merdingen FC booed when Sieverslake was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hendrik Ueding didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Dirk Baumeister had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, Sieverslake's goal looked a bit too open when Karsten Lewandowski came free, but Markus Junker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Merdingen FC booed when Sieverslake was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ahmed Saborowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karsten Lewandowski took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Markus Junker. Markus Junker dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Dirk Baumeister struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Markus Junker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merdingen FC. Nicholas Daus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 27th minute by Robbie Stelze got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Erhard Scherhag who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Werner Walser when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sigurd Drengenburg in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Werner Walser saved Merdingen FC from getting behind. Erhard Scherhag who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Werner Walser when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Dirk Baumeister recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Markus Junker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karsten Lewandowski in the 34th minute of the match. Markus Junker stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dirk Baumeister's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. In the 42nd minute Nicholas Daus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Markus Junker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sigurd Drengenburg during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sieverslake's Sigurd Drengenburg got a free kick in the 46th minute.

Markus Junker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roland Ulbrich, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Hendrik Ueding fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sieverslake's protests and gave Hendrik Ueding a yellow card for diving instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karsten Lewandowski in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Markus Junker saved Sieverslake from getting behind. Sigurd Drengenburg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Werner Walser having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sigurd Drengenburg in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Werner Walser prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 59 minutes, Erhard Scherhag managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sieverslake's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erhard Scherhag was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 62nd match minute, Merdingen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Ulbrich to maneuver through the defense. Erhard Scherhag recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicholas Daus could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Markus Junker made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Robbie Stelze put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Werner Walser. The audience was convinced that Erhard Scherhag's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Werner Walser was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. Ahmed Saborowski lost his temper 78 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 77 minutes into the game, one of Sieverslake:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Markus Junker, was totally fooled by Merdingen FC's Kurt Radbruch, who 80 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Robbie Stelze received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Werner Walser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicholas Dauss short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Markus Junker to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sieverslake's Markus Junker proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Sieverslake from getting a goal against them. Markus Junker made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roland Ulbrich in the 87th minute. Robbie Stelze sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 98 minutes into the game, Karsten Lewandowski recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Markus Junker. Karsten Lewandowski showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. Merdingen FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
