After a rather tough play, FC Schneidheim's Damir Haarbach got a free kick in the 17th minute. The supporters of FC Schneidheim booed when FC Lengerich 23 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hartmut Rick didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Pete Krützkamp came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the FC Schneidheim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pete Krützkamp couldn't finish the play. Manfred Hertz took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adam Westerwelle. Adam Westerwelle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

If Abi Krieger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 59th match minute, FC Schneidheim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jörg Burckhardt to maneuver through the defense. Wolfgang Hölderlin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee felt a red card was in order, 72 minutes into the game, when Donald Fostiropoulos put in a rough tackle. 71 minutes into the game, one of FC Schneidheim:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Adam Westerwelle had in the 73rdth minute some difficulties stopping Ferdinand Bechmann's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Lengerich 23's Bastian Jelden got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 80th minute Wolfgang Hölderlin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Westerwelle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manfred Hertz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adam Westerwelle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. FC Schneidheim's Adam Westerwelle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfred Hertz in the 89th minute of play. 89 minutes into the game, Claas Tiedemann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Schneidheim's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Lengerich 23 the free kick. A collision led to FC Schneidheim getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Lengerich 23 fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Schneidheim had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
