In the 19th minute, Werner Korff ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Karl Eberts was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Barry Gerwen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 25 minutes into the match, Olaf Höfer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Horst Dürr. FC Hawaii's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olaf Höfer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 29th minute Werner Korff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Eberts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faru CTA's Karl Eberts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Werner Korff in the 32nd minute of play. The supporters of Faru CTA booed when FC Hawaii was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lars Schnoor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barry Gerwen struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Horst Dürr didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Faru CTA. In the 38th match minute, FC Hawaii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Klara Hofmeier to maneuver through the defense. The referee felt a red card was in order, 42 minutes into the game, when Boris Grotthaus put in a rough tackle. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nikolaus Cayrol to make the kick off. Karl Eberts was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Nikolaus Cayrol capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nikolaus Cayrol really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. If Nikolaus Cayrol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute, Olaf Höfer made a precise shot to the right of Horst Dürr. FC Hawaii's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. The supporters of FC Hawaii booed when Faru CTA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dieter Ludwig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olaf Höfer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Horst Dürr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Nikolaus Cayrol got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Werner Derix in the 75th minute of play forced FC Hawaii's goalkeeper Horst Dürr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Hawaii's Nikolaus Cayrol got a free kick in the 81st minute. Olaf Höfer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 84 played minutes FC Hawaii got a freekick which was hit by Klara Hofmeier. After a rather tough play, Faru CTA's Olaf Höfer got a free kick in the 90th minute. If Nikolaus Cayrol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
