Werner Derix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anatol Klumpp having to interfere. Anatol Klumpp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olaf Höfer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Olaf Höfer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Faru CTA's supporters rose to their feet, but Olaf Höfer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anatol Klumpp breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 46th minute, Werner Derix got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olaf Höfer to make the kick off. In the 52ndth minute of the game Olaf Höfer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wismut Aue's Anatol Klumpp was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 64 played minutes Wismut Aue got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Grabosch. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodrigo Rady during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olaf Höfer got free with Anatol Klumpp in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 74th minute, Olaf Höfer made a precise shot to the right of Anatol Klumpp. Wismut Aue's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4.
