Spectators: 7701 (Terracing: 5777, Seating: 1771, VIP seats: 153) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Heiko Jojade kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the match, Steven Blumenhofen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Percy Skjelbred. 1.FC Köln's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Steven Blumenhofen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When Steven Blumenhofen came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the North Ferriby United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Steven Blumenhofen couldn't finish the play. After 16 played minutes 1.FC Köln got a freekick which was hit by Bartolomeo Walter. Matt Leers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Percy Skjelbred read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Mika Guenther managed to get in a good position for a shot. North Ferriby United's supporters rose to their feet, but Mika Guenther was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Percy Skjelbred breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Heiko Jojade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, North Ferriby United's Steven Blumenhofen got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 21st minute, Steven Blumenhofen fired away a free kick, which, to Percy Skjelbred's relief, went just outside the right post. The supporters of North Ferriby United booed when 1.FC Köln was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Goth didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christian Goth hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After 26 played minutes North Ferriby United got a freekick which was hit by Mika Guenther. Ewald Kuckuck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolomeo Walter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 29 played minutes North Ferriby United got a freekick which was hit by Erwin Bittel. After 30 played minutes, 1.FC Köln's Gunnar Kirchberger shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ewald Kuckuck came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in 1.FC Köln reached it. In the 35th match minute, North Ferriby United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mika Guenther to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of 1.FC Köln booed when North Ferriby United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mika Guenther didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute, Steven Blumenhofen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Percy Skjelbred. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 47th minute, Christian Goth left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The 1.FC Köln fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mladen Huthreuter made a kick off. Marc Antoni hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. 57 minutes into the match, Mika Guenther notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of 1.FC Köln's Percy Skjelbred. Percy Skjelbred was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Percy Skjelbred showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Heiko Jojade, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 66 minutes into the game, Relf Brachvogel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. 1.FC Köln's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave North Ferriby United the free kick. With a little luck, North Ferriby United's Ewald Kuckuck got control of the ball when Bartolomeo Walter tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 77th minute, Hannes Abernett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 79 minutes into the match, North Ferriby United's Steven Blumenhofen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Percy Skjelbred narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Matt Leers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Percy Skjelbred tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in 1.FC Köln's zone, Mika Guenther stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Percy Skjelbred came out of the goal and Mika Guenther tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Heiko Jojade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ewald Kuckuck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mladen Huthreuter in the 90th minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, North Ferriby United's goal looked a bit too open when Mladen Huthreuter came free, but Ewald Kuckuck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Heiko Jojade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 97th minute Steven Blumenhofen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percy Skjelbred saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that North Ferriby United were the better team. North Ferriby United's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
