Lev Kuhr showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manfred Schillinger, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The score was now 3-0. 33 minutes into the game, 1 FC Kaiserslautern's Pascal Silen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arvid Burg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 37th minute Fabian Baur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lev Kuhr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 38 played minutes 1 FC Kaiserslautern got a freekick which was hit by Marcello Lehn. In the 39th minute, Maurice Hoefer sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and 1 FC Kaiserslautern's Lev Kuhr didn't even have to move. Fabian Baur took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lev Kuhr. Thilo Pitten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Lev Kuhr made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gregor Blieske was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute of the game Tristan Hell made a throw-in which Thilo Pitten played forward. 53 minutes into the game, Manfred Schillinger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kowalski's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 1 FC Kaiserslautern the free kick. In the 53rd minute, Manfred Schillinger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Pascal Silen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arvid Burg made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Pascal Silen sent off a good shot on target. Pascal Silen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Arvid Burg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute Gregor Blieske shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lev Kuhr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Gregor Blieske quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. The audience was convinced that Fabian Baur's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lev Kuhr was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. After having played for 95 minutes, Fabian Baur managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kowalski's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabian Baur was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
