FC Hinterfindmichnicht's Guido Schamberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandor Bergsohn in the 12th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Sandor Bergsohn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ludwigsburg's supporters rose to their feet, but Sandor Bergsohn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guido Schamberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pieter Schubert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gunther Schaub having to interfere. Gunther Schaub made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pieter Schubert in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute, Sandor Bergsohn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pieter Schubert could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Gunther Schaub made a huge save. In the 39th minute, Günter Clemens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Guido Schamberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Günter Clemens in the 44th minute of play. Gunther Schaub made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stefan Bombis in the 46th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Ludwigsburg's goal looked a bit too open when Pieter Schubert came free, but Gunther Schaub reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 66th minute Crispin Trame shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunther Schaub saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee ignored FC Hinterfindmichnicht's protests and gave Daniel Schilde a yellow card for diving instead. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
